Another of the Emergence Body Art Series, the ‘Rebirth’ body of work represents the peace felt when you first realize you are absolutely comfortable with yourself…and living the life that you want.
The body art for this series was was intentionally very ‘naked’ in effect. Tracie Eaton used three layers of foundations to ensure that her skin looked smooth & light, with minimal freckles or colour. Whilst a simple body paint, this photo shoot was the most technical completed. The effect Tracie wanted required good lighting, body positioning and props. Think scaffolding, 6 staff, holding positions so not to move the water…and you will start to get a sense of the 3hr photo shoot that occured.
The photographs were then printed on to canvas, and Tracie texturised aspects of the image to really bring it to life, using pallet knife and thick paints, glitter and a gloss medium to create a ‘wet’ affect.
